Kinder Landing 2.0: How to get paid

There is a couple different tracks that you could be following when it comes to getting paid, and it’s all based on the form of your contract:

  • Fixed hour contract for an (in)definite amount of time
  • Zero hour contract for an (in)definite amount of time
  • Freelance agreement
  • Short term internship agreement

Fixed hour contract

When you joined Kinder you filled out the personal information form and signed a contract, both have been sent to the salary administration office (Salariskantoor) that we work with. Soon after that, you’ve received an email from them sending you the login details to their portal (if you haven’t tell Laura!). This is where you’ll be able to find all your payslips.

Around the 25th of each month, Salariskantoor calculates the salaries of the fixed hour contracts for us, as well as how much money we need to pay the Belastingdienst. When this is finished we send out the salaries via a bank transfer and a day later (depending on which bank you use) you’ll find the money on your account.

If you haven’t received your salary or something seems to be off, let Laura know and she’ll fix it a.s.a.p.

Zero hour contract

When you joined Kinder you filled out the personal information form and signed a contract, both have been sent to the salary administration office (Salariskantoor) that we work with. Soon after that you’ve received an email from them sending you the login details to their portal (if you haven’t tell Laura!). This is where you’ll be able to find all your payslips.

During the month you keep track of all the hours you make via Toggl. Before the first Wednesday of the next month (or the second if the first day of the months falls on a Wednesday) you send this data to Laura. Laura forwards the total amount of hours you’ve made to Salariskantoor and they calculate the amount of money that will end up in your account. You’ll be paid about one week after you’ve send your hours to Laura.

Freelance agreement

This one is the easiest. You send an invoice for the hours you’ve made each month to Laura. No later than 14 days after that you’ll find the money in your account.

Short term internship agreement

When you’re interning with Kinder after, or separate from, your studies and you’ve successfully completed your trial month, you’ll have been offered an internship reimbursement for the next couple of months. If you’re planning on staying on board for a longer period of time your reimbursement will be processed in the same way as the fixed hour contracts. However if you’re interning with Kinder while also looking for job opportunities for example and you want to be able to start a new job as quickly as possible, or you already know you’ll be starting a new adventures in less than 3 months, there is a different system.

Instead of every month, you’ll be paid at the end of your time at Kinder in full via a ‘kwitantie’ (an invoice for people without tax number). Laura will set up the kwitantie for you and all you have to do is sign it. Make sure you keep it somewhere safe though, because at the end of the tax year you will be responsible to include it in your tax return (and pay income tax) yourself.
